Three Colorado cities make HOT JOB seeker list for 2017

San Francisco based NerdWallet released a new employment trend report for the nations top 100 cities and once again Denver ranked high on the list.  Coming in at #2, Denver is second only to Austin, Texas for job seekers in 2017.  Two additional Colorado cities made the top 100, Aurora (#17) and Colorado Springs (#42)

Below are the categories NerdWallet report used to compile the list and how the three Colorado cities scored.

  • Unemployment Rate (as of October 2016)
    • Denver 2.9%
    • Aurora 2.9%
    • Colorado Springs 3.5%
  • Employed population growth (from 2010-2015).  This percentage is the labor force currently working compared to the total number of people that are of working age. 
    • Denver  29.54%
    • Aurora 19.03%
    • Colorado Springs 11.6%
  • Median 2015 annual earning for full time workers
    • Denver $47,741.00
    • Aurora $40,851.00
    • Colorado Springs $44,606.00

According to the Denver Business Journal, Denver is ranked seventh in the country for new private sector jobs added over the past year and fifth for job growth.
