In an industry that added over 158,000 jobs as of May 2016, those interested in working within the construction industry can now take a one-month long course at the Emily Griffith Technical College. This course was developed to help fill jobs in the construction industry that have had shortages in the last few years. It is estimated that close to 30,000 new construction jobs will be added over the next 7 years in Colorado. “Thanks to legislators who recognize the need to create a path for those who are seeking lasting careers and improving the construction industry in Colorado, we were able to secure a grant to launch this program this September. We need talent now to help our industry and we want those opportunities to go to our own residents” Michael Gifford president and CEO of the Associated General Contractors of Colorado.
Funded by a $1.1million grant from the state of Colorado, job seekers participating in the program can do so at no cost. Visit www.BuildColorado.com for additional information and enrollment.
